Product introduction
ASTM A514GrQ is a high-strength quenched and tempered alloy steel plate developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), which must comply with ASTM A6/A6M General Technical Conditions and ASTM A370 Mechanical Testing Standards. This steel plate is designed for high load environments and is mainly used in the field of marine engineering, such as the manufacturing of gear racks for self elevating offshore drilling platforms, and has been certified by classification societies.
Its chemical composition includes elements such as carbon (C: 0.10-0.19%) and manganese (Mn: 1.00-1.45%). It is produced using controlled rolling, controlled cooling, and quenching processes to ensure the cleanliness and mechanical properties of the steel. The standard thickness range is 80-152mm, of which the 120-150mm thickness specification can achieve a yield strength of 720-760MPa, a tensile strength of 830-880MPa, and a V-shaped impact energy of 90-150J. Different thickness steel plates are treated with quenching and tempering or controlled rolling+tempering processes to meet the special requirements of marine equipment for material strength.
